This was a cake for the local mothers' club new member tea. It was my first foray into fondant flowers. The flowers, cake covering, picket fence and sign are all fondant, over a 14" round.
I do love doing cakes. Really - I swear. Yet, every time I do a big one, I swear that I am never doing it again. But I must be a glutton for punishment, because I keep doing them. I tend to refer to that window of time as "cake hell". As in, "Nope, I can't do anything for THOSE two weeks, I'm going to be in Cake Hell. It is truly a labor of love. Anyway - here are some of my favorite (and less favorite, but DONE) labors...
